May 8 - Skewed and Reviewed Interviews Uwe Boll! - Click Here To Comment

UB: It’s hard to get screens because a lot of exhibitors think the movie, Postal, is too politically incorrect. They should book it and leave the decision to the audience.

GVK: Can you explain some of the concerns that have been given as why the film is not getting a major theatrical release; especially with the good word of mouth on the film I find this to be a real surprise.

UB: It’s the exhibitors who are blocking it. If you read this interview go to your theatre and ask if they are going to play “POSTAL” and if the answer is NO; then ask WHY NOT.

April 2 - NEW STUDY SHOWS VIOLENT GAMES DECREASE VIOLENT NATURE - Click Here To Comment

Violent video games are often blamed for real-world violence, and critics of the industry often cite academic studies to back up their claims. Now, a report presented at the British Psychological Society's Annual Conference in Dublin says violent games may in fact lessen the urge to commit violent acts in the real world.
In a study conducted by Jane Barnett and colleagues at Middlesex University, psychologists found that gamers were more likely to be calm or simply tired after playing, rather than itching to go outside and kick someone's head in.

Noteworthy is the clarification that Postal is in fact not a “ultra violent “ series but rather akin to a funny, cheesy splatter movie. They also stand by the principles that any creative industry should not be “castrated” by politically motivated censorship (political correctness) guidelines. “We believe that violence belongs in entertainment products - not in the streets.” Indeed these are righteous principles.

March 13 - POSTAL MOVIE REVIEWED ON THE HORROR REVIEW! - Click Here To Comment

"Boll has opened his new movie with what plays like a parody of the climactic scenes of UNITED 93. What’s surprising is that the scene is genuinely funny, and sets the fearless, anarchic tone for the madness to follow. This grim farce is equally influenced by SOUTH PARK (and, by extension, TEAM AMERICA : WORLD POLICE), FALLING DOWN, Russ Meyer and Troma Films. Although very funny throughout and broadly performed, this nihilistic comedy is as grim as they come, a fact reinforced by the ending - arguably one of the most subversive fade-outs to any movie this decade. In a kind of 21st century variant on the close of DOCTOR STRANGELOVE, good buddies George W Bush and Osama Bin Laden skip into the sunset together, reciting the parting line from beloved American classic CASABLANCA as mushroom clouds rise above the city and the nuclear holocaust begins. For this astonishing finale (and for the fabulous line “What’s the difference between a duck?”), POSTAL is essential viewing."

March 13 - POSTAL MOVIE REVIEWED ON FILMTHREAT! - Click Here To Comment

"I laughed my ass off! First and foremost is Dave Foley, who effortlessly gives a great performance as Uncle Dave. I’d thought Foley had gone a little soft since his Kids in the Hall days. But after seeing him here, I’m proud to say he hasn’t mellowed one bit. He's just awesome in ways that can't be described without homoerotic overtones. Postal is so ballsy and unconcerned with playing touchy-feely that you have to admire the sheer joyful fearlessness that went in its making. It pokes fun at black people, celebrities, immigrants, Americans, fat people, Muslims, dwarves, Asians, gun nuts, cops, Germany, September 11th, women, religion, Americans, tragedy, war, the holocaust, death, Americans, children, the mentally challenged, and even at Uwe Boll himself!

"EXCLUSIVE: 'Postal' Actually A Good Movie!"
Ready for a shock to the World Wide Web? "Dr. Uwe Boll's POSTAL is one of the funniest movies of the year and his most accomplished film to date. Dr. Boll has not only taken a one-note videogame and written a crassly smart mirror reflecting our jaded, over-caffeinated times, but also assembled his best cast yet. Before you blindly bash Dr. Boll's latest video game-to-film "port" based on his previous work, leave your bullsh#t baggage at the door. It's crude, sometimes campy, almost like the Troma movie Troma could never afford. The film is his most "intentional" comedy yet, a ballsy satire with an offensive mouth, a lot of gore and even a little heart. With POSTAL, Dr. Uwe Boll, the supposed "Satan of Cinema", has finally shown that he's a lot smarter (and funnier) than the geek culture bashes him for, and he might have the cult classic he's been striving to achieve...and might get a little respect out of it."

Oct 10 - Bloody-Disgusting.com interviews Uwe Boll about Postal!

"I was writing POSTAL and SEED at the same time, and I put all the really negative and dark energy into SEED, and I took the other energy into a funny mood and wrote POSTAL. We got NC-17 (for SEED) there are a lot of gore scenes. There’s one scene where he kills a woman with a hammer and it’s maybe one of the most brutal scenes ever! We had like 4 minutes with no cuts, everybody is silent after that scene in the theater. There was nothing for me to lose. So I basically did these movies where I didn’t give a shit about investors, and about ratings, and reviews, and censorship. I put in everything I always wanted to say, and the POSTAL team (Running With Scissors) were not really happy about what I did there. They are also fans of ridiculous humor, and brutal stuff, and over the top stuff, and even THEY said “This is too much Uwe, you have to tone it down, you have to reduce it, or else you won’t get any rating or any screens.” But I said “Look, I make the movie, I shoot it now, the way I want to do it.”

Sept 20 - POSTAL REVIEWED ON FREEZE DRIED MOVIES!

"Prepare yourself folks... while it may be dim praise, Uwe Boll has made the best film based on a video game, ever. Sort of like South Park meets Kentucky Fried Movie, Postal tells the tale of the Dude (Zach Ward) a trailer park resident whose life is falling apart. His wife cheats on him, he has no job, a would-be mugger hounds him at every turn, and basically, the entire world around him has fallen to shit (terrorism, religious hysteria, assholes on their cell phones at the coffee shop, etc). One day, he hatches a plan with his cousin, Uncle Dave (Dave Foley), to steal a truckload of high demand Krotchy dolls and then sell them for profit. Unfortunately, Osama Bin Laden (Larry Thomas, aka the Soup Nazi) and his minions have plans for the Krotchy dolls themselves, as they plan to use them to unleash a terror attack. Needless to say, when the two groups meet, all hell breaks loose!"

Sept 19 - Postal Featured On Yahoo's "History Of Controversial Games" Article!

"You have to hand it to Running with Scissors - they knew how to drive people crazy. For instance, call your ultra-violent action game "Postal," a term coined after a series of homicides by disgruntled U.S. Postal employees during the '80s and '90s. Though the game's cartoonish graphics and disconnected isometric viewpoint made light of its insidious undertones, no one was laughing - especially not the U.S. Postal Service, who promptly sued the pants off the developers for trademark infringement. Though Running With Scissors have somehow managed to crank out a few sequels and even a feature film, the Postal series has remained an example of shock over substance."

In Robert Ludlum's new best selling novel "The Bourne Betrayal" (the latest entry in the Jason Bourne series), a character name Tyrone witnesses arson and the murder of a police officer but remains silent and loyal to the code of the street. That credibility gained him respect of fellow gang members who gave him a small pistol in appreciation. This made Tyrone feel obligated to use the gun because (according to the novel) he "already had some experience blowing people's heads off playing Postal 2 and Soldier of Fortune. As it turned out, the real thing wasn't much different. Just that you had to be careful afterward so the kill wouldn't turn into a career ending move."
As Tyrone would say: "Now dat's just ig'nant!"

A small clip from Stuart’s Uwe Boll Boxing Documentary will be shown at Montreal’s Fantasia Film Festival just before the screening of Postal.

July 16 - Postal Movie Recieves 5 out of 5 at DreadCentral.com!

"Uwe Boll turns out to be an evil comedy genius and delivers what is probably the funniest movie I've seen in five years. Amazing. Postal puts guns in the hands of every third person in the film, which means the two people to the left and right are about to die horribly. You'll see Taliban suicide bombers splattered across storefronts, kids' chests exploding open in hails of gunfire, babies in oncoming traffic, and the formerly unspoken terror of … monkeys in drag.
There were times in this film when I couldn't believe how creative the comedic writing was so I just remained there jaw agape, eyes glued to the screen, and laughing my ass off every five minutes. Postal is the bloody, unflinching, uproarious film most Troma movies wish they could be. Well acted, well written, and 100% fun. Uwe Boll made the funniest movie I've seen all year. Believe it."

July 3 - NEW POSTAL MOVIE REVIEW!

"As the end credits of the film began to roll and the directors name appeared on screen the entire room came to their feet and began to applaud. “Postal” is comedy that is indiscriminately offensive, boldly inappropriate, gross, and lewd. But, hey, it's also really funny too. The whole movie is so completely batshit crazy that even the creator of the video game “Postal” makes a cameo in which he screams, “Uwe Boll, what the fuck have you done to my game?”
“Postal” is really like some of the very best violent satiric comedy that we're used to seeing come out places like Troma. Actually, come to think of it, “Troma” would be the best way to describe what “Postal” is. It's a $15 million dollar Troma film. “Postal” is so sharply paced and written and so well handled by Boll and his great cast. Good work, Mr. Boll!"

June 18 - POSTAL MOVIE SHOWN AT CANNES!

"Well pardon me all to hell. I’ve just seen a good Uwe Boll film, and damned if it isn’t bloody funny. It’s called Postal, and it’s a riot. Stunningly offensive, but bloody funny. Expect to hear about this one if it ever manages to find a distributor brave enough to buy it."
