REVIEWS:

The New York Times:
"As the movie’s scattershot plot rocks along, the audience gets a long full-frontal look at a nude Dave Foley, the boyish comic best known for his work in the Kids in the Hall comedy troupe and on the television show “News Radio,” who portrays a sleazy satyr of a cult leader. By the time the film’s protagonist, played by Zack Ward, uses a cat for a silencer, the boundaries of good taste have been left so far behind that the Hubble Space Telescope couldn’t spot the border signs. Considering the gross-out and sexual-humor quotient of many recent films, “Postal” could well find an audience. The raucous crowd at a screening presented by the New York City Horror Film Festival last month erupted in laughter for every startlingly transgressive joke. As a couple left the theater, a woman told her date, “It made no sense, but it was hysterical.”

Rue Morgue Radio:
"Buzz around this movie is pretty good! You know why? Because it's PRETTY GOOD! Suprisingly we got a Boll movie that's PRETTY DAMN DECENT! Imagine you're getting stoned watching a movie in the basement with a buddy, cracking really tasteless comments to each other that you would never dare breathe in public, that sort of impulse, that mentality is exactaly what drives forward Uwe Boll's POSTAL! It is fucking wall-to-wall nothing but the most insane, jaw-dropping moments I've ever seen in a film!"

The Feed G4:
"'Postal' Actually A Good Movie, one of the funniest movies of the year. Before you blindly bash Dr. Boll's latest video game-to-film "port" based on his previous work, leave your bullsh#t baggage at the door. The film is his most "intentional" comedy yet, a ballsy satire with an offensive mouth, a lot of gore and even a little heart. With POSTAL, Dr. Uwe Boll, the supposed "Satan of Cinema", has finally shown that he's a lot smarter (and funnier) than the geek culture bashes him for, and he might have the cult classic he's been striving to achieve"

Den Of Geek:
"First things first. Whatever you think of Uwe Boll, whatever you’ve heard about him and most importantly whatever you think of his previous films, I want you to take a deep breath and forget all of it. Postal is a fantastic film, hysterically funny and brutally satirical. Since Postal was based on a game which just involved a lot of over the top, gratuitous violence, it would have been easy to just make a straightforward action movie, using key elements of the game to gain the controversial status, such as child killing or using a cat as a silencer. But while those elements remain intact (the child massacre being one of the most relentlessly funny moments I’ve had the joy to witness; trust me, with each child that falls so will a tear of laughter) they are used more as references to the game than to provoke outrage, and it speaks volumes about the film that the violence is secondary in its shock value next to the satire. I absolutely encourage people to go and see Postal. You really won’t have seen anything quite like it before!"

News Blaze:
"The bad boy German import dubbed 'Raging Boll,' also has a take-no-prisoners, uncanny feel for the nuttiest, most perverse aspects of US culture, bringing to his unique brand of filmmaking a little of the raw and rowdy flavor of a pro-wrestling ring. The darker, zany recesses of America as viewed from the Twilight Zone. Move over, Borat."

Film Threat:
"I laughed my ass off! First and foremost is Dave Foley, who effortlessly gives a great performance as Uncle Dave. I’d thought Foley had gone a little soft since his Kids in the Hall days. But after seeing him here, I’m proud to say he hasn’t mellowed one bit. He's just awesome in ways that can't be described without homoerotic overtones. Postal is so ballsy and unconcerned with playing touchy-feely that you have to admire the sheer joyful fearlessness that went in its making. It pokes fun at black people, celebrities, immigrants, Americans, fat people, Muslims, dwarves, Asians, gun nuts, cops, Germany, September 11th, women, religion, Americans, tragedy, war, the holocaust, death, Americans, children, the mentally challenged, and even at Uwe Boll himself!"

Movieset:
"POSTAL is insulting, irreverent, politically incorrect and funny as hell."

Freezedriedmovies:
"Prepare yourself folks... while it may be dim praise, Uwe Boll has made the best film based on a video game, ever. Sort of like South Park meets Kentucky Fried Movie. Your enjoyment of the film is probably dependent on how easily offended you get. If the sight of George W. Bush (well, a lookalike anyway) amusing himself by using a toy plane to knock over two towers made of Legos is too much for you to handle, then maybe you should stick to According to Jim. Everyone else, prepare yourself for the shocking truth: Uwe Boll’s Postal is a damn fun film, and succeeds where everyone else has failed: it validates using a video game as the source material for a feature film. "

DREAD Central:
"Uwe Boll turns out to be an evil comedy genius and delivers what is probably the funniest movie I've seen in five years. Amazing. Postal puts guns in the hands of every third person in the film, which means the two people to the left and right are about to die horribly. I couldn't believe how creative the comedic writing was so I just remained there jaw agape, eyes glued to the screen, and laughing my ass off every five minutes. Postal is the bloody, unflinching, uproarious film most Troma movies wish they could be. Well acted, well written, and 100% fun. Uwe Boll made the funniest movie I've seen all year. Believe it. 5 out of 5"

Bloody-Disgusting.com:
"it remains a mystery why Uwe is so hated when A. his video game movies were no worse (or, to be fair, better) than any other video game movie like Super Mario Bros, Double Dragon, or Street Fighter, and B. those other movies were based on genuinely beloved games, unlike Boll's (come on, who the hell considers Bloodrayne to be a landmark game the way Super Mario is?) Unlike Boll’s previous three films, this one is INTENTIONALLY funny. It’s not horror or action like the others, but instead a genuine ZAZ-style kitchen sink comedy that manages to fun of pretty much everything, leaving no sacred cow un-tipped (the film’s lone Jew joke is worth the price of admission alone)."

Blood Capsules:
"A bad day turns to genocidal disaster for Zack Ward in this hilarious satire from the actually-good-now-no-really Uwe Boll. When a terrorist plot to hide bird flu in cuddly penis toys clashes with a mad religious cult's raid on a nazi theme park things go... Oh, what's the use? You get the idea. This is madness. Just go see it. The humour might well be tasteless and it's pretty all-encompassing with its targets but I found it strangely uplifting (not to mention deeply, deeply funny). As coarse and vulgar as it often is, you could put this film in a time capsule and it would near-perfectly sum up the anxiety and absurdity of Western culture in the early 21st century. There's a surprising sophistry to the screenplay and the production values are fantastic. 100 minutes zips along in a furore of gags and gunfire, both of which hit far more often than they miss. A genuine treat!

HorrorReview.com:
"Boll has opened his new movie with what plays like a parody of the climactic scenes of UNITED 93. What’s surprising is that the scene is genuinely funny, and sets the fearless, anarchic tone for the madness to follow. This grim farce is equally influenced by SOUTH PARK (and, by extension, TEAM AMERICA : WORLD POLICE), FALLING DOWN, Russ Meyer and Troma Films. Although very funny throughout and broadly performed, this nihilistic comedy is as grim as they come, a fact reinforced by the ending - arguably one of the most subversive fade-outs to any movie this decade. In a kind of 21st century variant on the close of DOCTOR STRANGELOVE, good buddies George W Bush and Osama Bin Laden skip into the sunset together, reciting the parting line from beloved American classic CASABLANCA as mushroom clouds rise above the city and the nuclear holocaust begins. For this astonishing finale (and for the fabulous line “What’s the difference between a duck?”), POSTAL is essential viewing."

Sarah Hates Your Movie:
"Postal will be a controversial film. It's trying to be. But it's also, perhaps surprisingly, really quite good. Putting aside controversy for now, Postal really works as a movie. It looks great, for one thing. It's not a particularly high budget movie, but it looks really, really good. Dave Foley deserves a mention, too, and Uwe Boll's own cameo is one of the best self-parodies I've ever seen. In a way, it's almost a pity that the subject matter is so controversial, because it'll mean that a lot of people won't see this movie. Then again, dealing with controversial subjects didn't do South Park any harm, did it?"

Real Time News:
"The Postal Dude approaches his Uncle Dave (Dave Foley), the guru of a local, libidinous free love cult called DOOM (Denomination of Organic Monotheism). Dave takes him in on the condition that he help burglarize an amusement park. What neither of them knows is that Osama bin Laden (Larry Thomas) and the Taliban are also in the area and about to unleash some major mayhem. What ensues is likely to amuse you, if and only if, you're inclined to contemplate the lighter side of the radical Islam and the War on Terror. Brace yourself for the Taliban TV Network, trigger-happy cops killing innocent civilians, Bush conspiring with Muslim extremists to sabotage a pipeline to increase the price of oil, and the sight of a female suicide bomber blowing herself to smithereens at a convenience store. Ensemble cast includes J.K. Simmons, Verne "Mini-Me" Troyer, Seymour Cassel and director Boll. Tasteless, profane and farfetched, but undeniably funny, too! Very Good!"

Icons Of Fright:
"Uwe Boll's Citizen Kane. Postal is comedy that is indiscriminately offensive, boldly inappropriate, gross, and lewd. But, hey, it's also really funny too. “Troma” would be the best way to describe what “Postal” is. It's a $15 million dollar Troma film. “Postal” is so sharply paced and written and so well handled by Boll and his great cast. Good work, Mr. Boll!"

Times Square Gossip:
"I must say, I had a great time last night with Village People icon Randy Jones at the screening of Postal, the new movie based on the hit video game. This is a must see movie if you want to have some old time laughs. Scenes with Osama Bin Laden are so funny, you are going to drop your popcorn, or in my case, my beer."

Metal Coven Fanzine:
POSTAL MOVIE RATED 90%
"Dave Foley is at his hilarious best! If you have always wanted to know what such film as "South Park" or "Team America" would look like if, instead of cartoon characters or puppets they had real actors on the screen. Or what a Troma movie with a multi-million dollar budget would look like, then go to the movies this weekend and see "Postal"! I promise you if you even remotely laugh at the humor of people like Trey Parker, Lloyd Kaufman, James Gunn, or the Monty Pythons pictures, then you will turn your chair over with laughter at the hilariousness of "Postal"! 90%"

Futuremovies:
"Well pardon me all to hell. I’ve just seen a good Uwe Boll film, and damned if it isn’t bloody funny. It’s called Postal, and it’s a riot. Stunningly offensive, but bloody funny. Expect to hear about this one if it ever manages to find a distributor brave enough to buy it."

User reviews on the IMDB:
Dave Foley's Most Hilarious Role Yet!
Dave Foley is the new King of comedy! OMG! Dave Foley had me in tears laughing so hard! This time he's Rated-R and without any restrictions or limitations to what he can say or do and believe me, he does it all! This proves once and for all that Dave Foley is a comedic force to be reckoned with! Postal is a very edgy and hilarious adult movie, I almost puked my guts out laughing so hard!
